Conference of Academic Senators

What lies behind the abbreviation KAS? Behind these letters is a longer name: the Conference of Academic Senators (Konference akademických senátorek a senátorů). It is an annual event organized by the SK RVŠ, bringing together student senators from various higher education institutions across the Czech Republic. The conference focuses on issues related to the higher education environment, and aims to build the expertise of student senators, share good practice, foster connections among participants, and improve both the material and non-material environment at higher education institutions.

The conference focuses on issues related to the higher education environment, and aims to build the expertise of student senators, share good practice, foster connections among participants, and improve both the material and non-material environment at higher education institutions. Thanks to the multidisciplinary representation of stakeholders across a range of panels, the conference enables a rich discussion of the topics addressed and outlines interesting solutions to the issues selected. The conference is currently structured as a one-day event, beginning in the morning and ending in the early evening, followed by informal networking.

What will you gain?

You will learn a great deal

about current trends in higher education, of course with a focus on students.

You will gain a broader perspective

on current developments at the Council of Higher Education Institutions, particularly within its student section. And since we are the national representation of students, this will also broaden your overall perspective on higher education in the Czech Republic.

We will have the chance

to get to know one another and share our experiences and good practices from our own higher education institutions. We can inspire one another, since we undoubtedly share a common goal: for students in the Czech Republic to live and study as well as possible.

A friendly atmosphere

is also certainly a pleasant part of the motivation to take part. 🙂

What do we need from you?

1) Above all, that you come and bring along as many fellow senators as possible, both from the “central” senate and from “smaller” (faculty) senates. It is also possible to arrange for a candidate for the academic senate, or a newly elected senator whose mandate has not yet begun, to attend as well.

2) That you are not afraid to get involved in the prepared program. No opinion or approach is simply wrong, and we are glad to learn how things (do or don’t) work elsewhere.
