ISIC

The ISIC (International Student Identity Card) is a globally recognized document proving student status at secondary schools, vocational colleges, higher education institutions, and selected one-year post-secondary programs. 

The card has been issued by the global ISIC Association under the auspices of UNESCO for more than 65 years. 

You can purchase an ISIC card at school or online. 

Why get an ISIC? 

The card is a great way for students to get student discounts not only on admission fees or tickets, but also when shopping at various stores or on food at select chains. Student discounts with the ISIC card are very common in the Czech Republic; you can find a complete list on the official website. 

Where can I get an ISIC card? 

You usually need to apply for it at your school, most often at the Student Affairs Office. The card is typically valid until the end of the following year and costs around 500 CZK. Once the card expires, you need to purchase a special sticker for each calendar year, which is affixed to the back of the card. Stickers should be available at the Student Affairs Office and cost approximately 300 CZK per year.

Yes! ISIC has its own app, which can be downloaded from Google Play and the App Store

We are part of the ESC ACADEMY PRO project 

The ESC ACADEMY PRO project, funded by the European Union, aims to create a transition period leading up to the adoption of the European Student Card (ESC) initiative by improving the digital capabilities of higher education institutions. 

To support the effective adaptation of the education system to the digital age, the European Commission has adopted two strategic priorities in its Digital Education Action Plan. 

In line with these priorities, the European Student Card (ESC) initiative aims to strengthen the European Education Area (EEA) by providing students with information at their fingertips. This digital ID will support the free flow of information and knowledge while replacing the previous plastic card, contributing to the green and digital transformation. 

The European Student Card (ESC) initiative will create a unified online solution that allows students to manage all administrative tasks related to their mobility. Students, youth workers, and higher education institutions will handle the entire administrative process through a unified online tool, which will facilitate the flow of information among all stakeholders and institutions and make the entire exchange far more accessible. This will increase mobility among students and foster a stronger sense of European belonging among young people, which is also one of the European Union’s priorities.

The project will be implemented jointly by six partners: the European Students’ Union, ISIC, Global Youth and Student Community, the Federation of Estonian Student Unions, the Student Chamber of the Council of Higher Education Institutions, and Out of The Box Europe.
