Student Chamber of the Council of Higher Education Institutions

The Student Chamber of the Council of Universities is the national representation of university students in the Czech Republic. Each university can send two students to the Council of Universities – a delegate and their alternate. The Council of Universities is part of the Council of Universities, which, together with the Czech Rectors’ Conference, officially represents universities in our country

MISSION

The Student Chamber of the Czech University of Applied Sciences represents all students of higher education institutions in the Czech Republic. It promotes their interests at the national and international level. It strives for cooperation between students and teachers, dialogue with the government of the Czech Republic and public administration bodies, and the development of academic self-government.

To be an active representation of students of Czech universities at the national and international level.

VALUES AND GOALS

Preserving and expanding freedom of study and deepening the quality of education, the possibility of the widest possible choice of the type and content of study, which will be of appropriate quality.

Supporting solidarity and equal access to dignified study without barriers based on age, gender, health, handicap, and social status.

Supporting and deepening co-responsibility for the management and development of higher education institutions, and active involvement of students in the administration of higher education.

International cooperation, active involvement in international organizations.

Organizational structure of SK RVŠ

The Executive Board
Consists of the President and Vice-Presidents; it ensures the operational management of the Chamber and its daily operations.

The President
Manages and organizes the Chamber’s activities, represents it externally, convenes meetings, submits proposals, and is responsible for implementing resolutions and managing the Chamber.

1st Vice-President for Organization and Management
Responsible for the internal organization, personnel agenda, integration of new members, and the formal aspect of the Chamber’s work; represents the President.

2nd Vice-President for Foreign Affairs
Coordinates foreign activities, represents the Chamber towards international partners and manages the ESU and V4+ agenda.

Working Group for Foreign Affairs (PRASK ZZ)
Coordinates European and international cooperation and, addresses issues of mobility, the quality of education, and student representation at the European level.

The Broader Executive Board
Consists of the members of the Executive Board and chairperson of committees; it participates in the professional and strategic direction of the Chamber.

Chairwoman of the Social and Economic Commission (KSE)
Manages the agenda of financing higher education and socio-economic aspects of studies.

Chairwoman of the Commission for Higher Education Self-Government (KVS)
Focuses on the development of the student role in academic self-government and in cooperation with universities’ self-governing bodies.

Chairwoman of the Commission for Doctoral Studies (KDS)
Resolves issues of doctoral studies, funding of science, and support for doctoral students.

Chairwoman of the Legislative Commission (LK)
Deals with legal issues of higher education and comments on legislation.

Member of the Presidium (2×)
Participates in the Chamber’s management between plenary meetings and performs tasks as assigned by the Chairman.

Plenum
The highest body of the Chamber, consisting of delegates, approves key resolutions, elects officials, and sets the direction of the Chamber.

University Delegates
Represent students of their university, participate in meetings, vote, and communicate between the Chamber and the academic community.

Secretariat
Provides administrative, organizational, and communication support for the Chamber’s activities.

Head of the Secretariat
Manages the Secretariat’s work and coordinates administration, management, and media activities as assigned by the Chairman. He is also responsible for website management.

Secretary
Provides minutes, administrative support for the Presidency, archive management, and internal system management.

PR Manager (spokeperson)
Responsible for communication with the media, management of social networks, and promotion of the Chamber’s activities.

PR Working Group (PRASK PR)
Supports media and promotional activities, participates in content creation and public communication.
