Internationalization

To coordinate and better promote priorities within the European Students’ Union, SK RVŠ is a member of the V4+ Alliance, which brings together student unions from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Moldova, Belarus, and Georgia. Meetings of V4+ country representatives usually take place twice a year; the last V4+ Meeting in the Czech Republic was organized by SK RVŠ in 2019. We also cooperate more closely at the bilateral level with the Slovak organization ŠRVŠ and the Hungarian organization HÖOK. We participate in each other’s events and draw inspiration from one another in seeking solutions to key issues that concern students. 

SK RVŠ actively participates in transnational efforts to address issues related to doctoral studies at the European level through its membership in Eurodoc. Here, we collaborate with representatives from other European Union countries and the Council of Europe. Eurodoc carries out a wide range of activities through its working groups, which focus on various aspects of doctoral studies and the academic environment. Every year, on the occasion of the Eurodoc General Assembly, a conference is held that addresses the current challenges faced by doctoral candidates and early-career researchers. In the Czech Republic, we had the honor of hosting the conference in 2021 at the National Technical Library in Prague under the theme “Improving Doctoral Training in Europe.” 

The SK RVŠ is also involved in addressing doctoral studies issues at the European level, where, as a member of Eurodoc (the European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers), it collaborates with representatives from 23 other countries of the European Union and the Council of Europe. Each country has the right to nominate two delegates to Eurodoc. Our current delegate is Jindra Lavrenčíková (UPCE). 

Eurodoc was founded in 2002 in Girona. Subsequently, in 2005, it was transformed into its current form as a non-profit international volunteer organization based in Brussels. As the representative of early-career researchers at the European level, the Council collaborates with all major stakeholders in the field of research and innovation in Europe, including, for example, the European Commission. Eurodoc’s scope of activities is broad and is determined by its established working groups, which, with few exceptions, are not fixed. Every year, Eurodoc organizes a conference dedicated to the current challenges faced by doctoral candidates and early-career researchers. In the Czech Republic, such a conference was last held in 2021 at the National Technical Library in Prague. 

In addition to the organizations mentioned above, the SK RVŠ has developed cooperation with a wide range of national and international organizations. These include, for example, ISIC, with which the SK RVŠ is collaborating on the implementation of the European Student Card as part of the ESC ACADEMY PRO project. At the national level, we cooperate, for instance, with the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS), where we are represented on the Council for the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps.
