Questionnaires Are Not Enough. Students Should Be Co-creators of Teaching, Saysthe New President of SK RVŠ Tereza Marková for Universitas Magazine

Feedback at higher education institutions is often only a formal matter and remains unused. The new president of the Student Chamber of the Council of Higher Education Institutions (SK RVŠ), Tereza Marková, aims to change this. In the interview, she explains why students should have a much greater influence on the form of study programmes and why simply filling in questionnaires at the end of the semester is not sufficient.

In the interview, Marková also addresses other key topics:

• Social barriers: Why financial support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Czech Republic is insufficient and how this limits student mobility.
• New Higher Education Act: Why it is necessary to defend one-third student representation in academic senates.
• Quality of teaching: She opens a debate on introducing functional positions of associate professors and professors instead of the current lifelong titles, which could limit the continued presence of problematic lecturers in the system.
