SK RVŠ Held Its First Off-Site Meeting

Over the weekend of March 22–24, we held our first off-site meeting of the 2024–2026 standing session. We were hosted in Lednice by the Faculty of Horticulture of Mendel University.

We opened the off-site meeting with team-building activities combined with getting to know Lednice. In the evening, we were joined for a discussion by the Chair of the RVŠ, Tomáš Kašparovský, and the Vice-Chair of the RVŠ, Jiří Skládanka.

Saturday’s program was kicked off by the committees and working groups, where we set out our goals. We will share information on selected outcomes in the near future. The main part of the program was the Chamber’s plenary session, which addressed the following topics:

• Academic failure and so-called “weed-out courses”
• The upcoming Conference of Academic Senators in Pilsen
• The nomination of a student representative to the NAÚ Board
• Approval of the SK RVŠ’s 2023 Financial Report
• Approval of the SK RVŠ’s 2024 Budget

We closed Saturday evening with a tasting of student wines produced by students of the Winemaker–Technologist study programme at the Faculty of Horticulture of Mendel University.
